Some people say I’m competitive. That’s because I am. Mostly on the soccer field, but also at work. Being part of the Turner Moore team (since 2015) definitely feels like soccer some days — we have rules, a squad, club staff, contracts, a club culture and tradition, and a schedule for each season (fixture list). As a part of this amazing team, I always bring my personal best, and get to practice my passion every day.

I love studying taxation. Here are some highlights: I began my career in the Audit & Assurance Group of one of the big four international accounting firms, before moving to another one where I became Manager of their Business Tax Services practice. I hold a Bachelor of Accounting & Financial Management degree (2009) and Masters of Accounting (2010) from the University of Waterloo and hold designations as a Chartered Professional Accountant (CPA), Chartered Accountant (CA), and Licensed Public Accountant (LPA) — definitely some competition in play there.

Along with annual adventure travel my wife and daughter to various places around the world, I am committed to understanding the complexities of tax as it applies to each of my owner-managed businesses. My services include designing and implementing tax minimization strategies, compliance, and helping clients with business acquisitions, divestitures, valuations, restructuring, and estate planning. I have also completed CPA Canada’s 3 year In-Depth Tax course and the In-Depth Owner-Managed business tax course.

Closer to home, and as the foundation of my business, I am the financial services partner for a host of local private companies representing a wide variety of industries including hospitality, distribution, construction and the non-profit sector.

Back to soccer (and sports). I play regularly with the Western Ontario Soccer League and am best known for scoring goals on the field. I also keep active by playing basketball in a local recreational league.
