Ontario Funding Opportunities Now Open for Businesses & Organizations

Several major provincial funding programs are currently available to help companies invest in growth, innovation, expansion, workforce development, and operational stability.
Below you’ll find four important Ontario funding programs worth exploring for your business.
Southwestern Ontario Development Fund (SWODF)
The Southwestern Ontario Development Fund provides support for projects and investments to existing businesses, municipalities and not-for-profit organizations for economic development in Southwestern Ontario.
Businesses may qualify if they:
- Have operated for at least three years
- Employ at least 10 people (5 in rural Ontario)
- Plan to create new jobs
- Are investing significantly in a new project or expansion
- Operate (or plan to operate) within Southwestern Ontario
Economic development organizations may qualify if they:
- Are leading projects tied to economic growth
- Have private-sector support

Protect Ontario Financing Program
This financing program was created to assist Ontario businesses affected by U.S. tariffs involving steel, aluminum, copper and automotive sectors.

Typical eligibility requirements include:
- Operating in Ontario within an eligible industry
- Minimum annual revenue thresholds
- Established operating history
- Demonstrated impact from tariffs or trade-related disruptions
- Prior exploration of available federal support programs

Businesses generally must:
- Have at least three years of operations

Ontario Together Trade Fund (OTTF)
The Ontario Together Trade Fund helps businesses respond to global trade uncertainty and supply chain disruption by supporting:
